Raiders 2022 Design Staff: Bobby Jones joins as program coordinator

The Raiders are pleased to welcome Bobby Jones to the corps in the roles of program coordinator and visual designer.

Harlan Landes, corps director and co-executive director of the Raiders Drum and Bugle Corps, shares, “Bobby’s vision for the Raiders’ 2022 production will result in a thrilling experience for performers and fans alike. His creativity in the field of the marching arts is undeniable, and Bobby will be a crucial part of the Raiders leadership as we return to the DCI competitive field this season and into the future.”

Bobby Jones is a full time Visual Designer, Program Coordinator and Consultant for a multitude of high school and university marching bands, drum corps, winter guards, and indoor percussion ensembles throughout the country. In addition to his new roles with the Raiders, most recently Bobby became the Visual Designer for the Genesis Drum and Bugle Corps.

Bobby has served as the Visual Designer and Caption Head for the 2006 Crossmen Drum & Bugle Corps and the 2007 Hawthorne Caballeros Drum & Bugle Corps. From 2011 through 2014 he was a member of the design team with the Jersey Surf Drum & Bugle Corps and was the drill designer for the 2017 and 2018 Cadets. Most notably, Bobby has played an integral part in the success of the Reading Buccaneers Drum & Bugle Corps serving as Visual Designer and Caption Head (2005, 2008-2011) and as Visual Designer and Program Coordinator (2012-2020).

In 2019, the Reading Buccaneers earned the DCA World Championship title, Bobby’s eleventh championship with the corps. In 2021 Bobby was appointed to be the Visual Designer for the US Army Training and Doctrine Command Band.

Bobby has been recognized by his peers and colleagues for his accomplishments and contributions to the drum corps community with induction into the Reading Buccaneers Hall of Fame in 2014 and into the World Drum Corps Hall of Fame in 2016. Bobby also works as a freelance adjudicator, judging for multiple indoor and outdoor circuits across the country, including WGI Percussion, Cavalcade of Bands (Administration) and the Philadelphia Mummers String Band Division.

Bobby lives in Hawthorne, NJ with his wife Amy, son Chase and puppy Myron.
