Raiders audition season begins with additions to the team

The Raiders Drum and Bugle Corps and A+ Education and Performing Arts are excited to return to the field for the 2022 DCI season. We are thrilled to present the administrative leadership for the corps as the organization focuses on building a successful future.

Harlan Landes is returning to the Raiders as corps director and co-executive director. Harlan arrived at the Raiders for the 2019 season as the assistant director for the corps and continued as corps director for 2020. Prior to the Raiders, Harlan was the corps director of the Bushwackers Drum Corps.

Bob Gupta will be taking on the role of co-executive director and is currently a member of the A+ Education and Performing Arts board of directors. Bob has overseen the creation of new programs at the organizational level including East Coast Live and X-Stream. Prior to joining A+, Bob was the executive director of the Bushwackers.

This month, Scott Litzenberg has joined the advisory board of A+ Education and Performing Arts. Scott will serve as an advisor to the Raiders Drum Corps as well, working closely with Harlan and Bob to build a successful organization as the group returns to the field following COVID restrictions. Scott is the former director of The Cadets and the Crossmen, and served as the director of bands at Unionville (PA) High School for twenty years.

“I’m pleased to be working more closely with Bob Gupta again, and having the opportunity to bring Scott Litzenberg’s wealth of experience to our operations, management, and strategy will be transformative for the Raiders Drum Corps,” said Harlan Landes. “We’ve already begun working on producing a season that is fresh, exciting, and accessible for our members and staff.”

In the coming days and weeks, the Raiders will announce new and returning educational and design staff, administration, and audition information. As we emerge from the pandemic, we have many instructional and design staff opportunities available for experienced and enthusiastic candidates as well as administration and volunteer roles. The Raiders foster a welcoming, diverse environment for the members and staff of the corps, and our team is dedicated to our positive approach to the members as well as the growth of the organization. The Raiders Fall/Winter Rehearsal Schedule
This year’s schedule is designed to be accessible to members coming from a distance and will incorporate virtual participation.

• Experience Days are one-day events designed to provide an introduction to the Raiders and drum corps in general for the entire family or for just the auditionee. These are regional events, so attend just the day that is closest to you. Each day will be different, so those who attend more than one will have a different experience each time and will grow and develop as a performer.
• Membership Weekends have more of a rehearsal feel but still serve as an introduction to the Raiders. Parents are welcome for our information sessions and to observe. You can expect to be performing pieces from our 2022 on-field production during the Membership Days.
• Virtual auditions will continue throughout the fall and winter in addition to the in-person Experience and Membership Days.
